Linda's Story
After obtaining a BA in Business Admin Finance from the University of Washington, I had a 20 year career as a senior finance officer for a multinational bank in Seattle WA. I also obtained my MBA Finance from the University of Puget Sound while working for the bank.
My next career was as the Chief Financial Officer for a Seattle non-profit for 16 years.
I retired from the working world in July 2011. Since then my husband and I have done a 15 month refit on our 28ft Bristol Channel Cutter sailboat. It was a major refit and included installing a diesel engine. Before that, it was only sail powered.
After the refit, we decided to build a Monolithic dome home in Marysville, to be close to the boat moored at the Port ...Expand for more
of Everett. We have done all of the interior work ourselves. Did I say something about retiring?
We also take breaks and travel. We've gone to Iceland every winter, Switzerland and most recently (May 2015) to Russia and Finland. We also took off a month in January 2014 to take a 7300 mile road trip to visit all the relatives in the mid-west. It was cold with lots of snow. We loved it!. We took this trip in our MIni Cooper Clubman.
I still play my flute, and have fun playing music with my husband Larry. He plays all kinds of guitars.
We also ride Moto Guzzi Nevada 750 motorcycles.
I love living in the pacific northwest. It doesn't rain all of the time, but making everyone believe that keeps everyone from moving here.
